Two-time Major champion Bryson DeChambeau has affirmed his commitment to LIV Golf, despite ongoing speculation surrounding the tour’s financial stability.

Recent reports have suggested that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is poised to withdraw its financial backing from the breakaway tour, casting doubt on its future viability.

While LIV executives have maintained that operations will continue as usual, prominent figures within European golf have indicated to BBC Sport their belief that LIV’s existence will not extend beyond the current year.

DeChambeau, 32, remains a significant attraction in the sport, with reports indicating, external that he is seeking $500 million (£370 million) to remain with LIV upon the expiration of his current contract.

He stated to Flushing It Golf, external: “As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.

“We’re still working on a potential contract. I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution. But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year.

“I just feel like I have a responsibility. I’ve put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do – we’re going to make this work.

“It’s a start-up, right? And so there’s going to be times where we’re squeezed and punched. This is one of those moments.

“But I’m going to do everything in my power to make it work and I really see the value in franchise golf.”

LIV’s emergence in 2022 caused a significant schism within professional golf, as it successfully attracted prominent players from the PGA Tour with lucrative financial incentives.
