Myles Garrett earned NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2023 and 2025.
In a blockbuster trade that reshapes the defensive landscape, Myles Garrett is set to join the Los Angeles Rams from the Cleveland Browns, while Odell Beckham Jr. has finalized a return to the New York Giants.
The Rams will acquire two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett in exchange for two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Jared Verse.
In addition to Verse, the Browns will receive a 2027 first-round NFL Draft pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.
Garrett, 30, was the Cleveland Browns’ top overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Throughout his career, he has amassed 412 tackles, 293 of them solo, along with 125.5 quarterback sacks, 23 forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries, one of which resulted in a touchdown.
Browns General Manager Andrew Berry stated that the organization initially “did not envision a world” where Garrett “was not a Cleveland Brown.”
“When the Rams first approached us regarding the possibility of trading Myles, we remained steadfast in our position,” Berry commented.
“However, as discussions intensified, we found ourselves at a genuine crossroads. Do we retain a truly generational player who has become synonymous with our team’s identity, or do we make the difficult decision that we believe is in the best long-term interests of the organization?”
“Within that framework, the decision became clear, despite the emotional complexities involved. As we embark on a new era of Browns football with a young core and a replenished asset base, we felt this move was critical to our transition.”
In other news, wide receiver AJ Brown has been traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots.
The three-time Pro Bowl receiver boasts 524 receptions for 8,029 yards and 56 touchdowns in 105 regular-season games played for the Eagles and the Tennessee Titans.
Brown recorded 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns over 15 games last season.
Odell Beckham Jr. played nine games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has officially rejoined the New York Giants, signing with the NFL team where he first rose to prominence 12 years ago.
Beckham, 33, was a free agent after sitting out last season, during which he served a six-game suspension for violating the league’s drug policy.
He participated in workouts with the Giants in April and again on Monday before finalizing his return to the franchise.
“Nothin [sic] was ever given to me I worked for everything I have. Never give up on urself [sic]. Home Team i’m back…. Let’s get it,” Beckham shared on Instagram.
Beckham was drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and spent five seasons with the team.
He tallied 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 games for the Giants before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
Beckham was a member of the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl-winning team in 2022, but suffered a torn knee ligament during the game and has since struggled to regain his peak form.
He returned to the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 before spending the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins.
Throughout his NFL career, Beckham has amassed 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. He has also recorded 23 rushes for 170 yards and one touchdown.
