The Witcher Cast Members Reportedly Stranded Due to Bomb Threat

Stars of the Netflix fantasy series “The Witcher” have recounted an unexpected incident during filming in north Wales, revealing they were temporarily stranded on a lake when “19th Century bombs” were discovered nearby.

During a promotional interview for the show’s upcoming fourth season, Liam Hemsworth and his co-star Joey Batey shared details about their “pretty exciting time in Wales” while shooting scenes on Llyn Padarn in Gwynedd.

Batey explained that the cast spent two weeks filming on a boat, and one day were instructed by the crew on shore to remain on the water.

“There were no crew on the boat – there was just us hiding protein bars and snacks around this raft – and then we radioed ‘can we come back to shore please’ and they said ‘well, don’t panic’,” Batey recalled.

The actors were subsequently informed that a bomb squad was en route to the location.

Batey recounted the crew’s message to them: “the safest place for you now is on the boat.”

He also mentioned that Laurence Fishburne’s reaction to the news, who plays Emiel Regis, elicited much laughter.

“You just went ‘of course there is – what else would there be?’,” he joked with Fishburne during the interview.

Hemsworth added that he heard a significant explosion upon returning to his trailer.

“I was in my trailer and I was eating lunch, and then I heard this explosion, and I was like ‘it couldn’t have been the bomb exploding? Is everyone alright?’,” he stated.

In the latest season of “The Witcher,” Hemsworth has taken over the lead role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill. The series is adapted from the widely popular novels and video games.

The Australian actor is set to portray the character, a monster hunter known as the White Wolf with supernatural abilities, for the final two seasons.

Other scenes for the show were filmed at various locations in Wales, including Doldabarn Castle in Gwynedd and a quarry situated near Llyn Padarn.
