Uzbekistan Suspends Penalties for Exporters with Overdue Debt

In Uzbekistan, a moratorium will be introduced on the accrual and collection of fines for overdue export debts for enterprises without state participation, lasting for one year. This announcement was made by Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 20th during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs, as reported.

The President noted that conflicts in certain regions, fluctuations in foreign markets, and logistical disruptions are causing delays in export earnings. In such circumstances, entrepreneurs who are already not receiving payments on time are forced to pay additional fines.

According to the Head of State, textile enterprises and exporters of fruits and vegetables have repeatedly appealed to him regarding this issue. As a result, a decision has been made that for one year, enterprises without state participation will not be charged or have fines collected for overdue export debts.
