Uzbekistan is set to restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The Ministry of Justice announced the measure.
As per a government resolution, a technical regulation “On the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products” has been approved. The regulation establishes uniform mandatory requirements concerning the limitation of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products manufactured in Uzbekistan.
Operational documentation for such products must include a passport in the state language, installation, maintenance, and repair instructions, as well as an operating manual.
Products placed on the market in Uzbekistan must undergo conformity assessment to the requirements of this regulation. Packaging must include the product name, manufacturer, and/or trademark.
This regulation will come into force six months after its official publication.
