A 22-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, identified as J.M., tragically died on Kavatsi Beach in Sozopol, Bulgaria, while attempting to rescue a drowning girl. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported the incident.
The tragedy occurred on August 7th. The citizen was attempting to save a Ukrainian citizen who was drowning, but due to the strong waves, the young man lost control and became trapped between large underwater rocks.
On August 9th, the body of J.M. was recovered from the water by rescuers from the Bulgarian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Currently, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, in collaboration with the Honorary Consulate in Bulgaria, is taking the necessary steps to repatriate the body to his homeland.
