Uzbekistan’s Transparent Taxi Market Exceeds 5 Trillion Sum Since Year’s Start

Over the first seven months of this year, 1,800 taxi drivers earned more than 100 million soums each, according to a report from the State Tax Committee.

The STC data indicates that 215 taxi aggregators have been integrated with tax authorities’ information systems during the same period, compared to 155 by the end of 2024.

Approximately 457,300 self-employed drivers provide passenger transportation through aggregators. The majority of drivers (56.3%) are between 30 and 50 years old, totaling 257,629 individuals. Drivers under 30 account for 166,207 individuals (36.3%), while those over 50 comprise 33,477 individuals (7.3%).

Aggregators paid 98.8 billion soums in taxes during the seven-month period, with VAT accounting for 55.4 billion soums of that total.
