Jesper Vahr Appointed as Denmark’s New Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Denmark to Uzbekistan, Jesper Vahr. The Foreign Minister announced this on his Telegram channel.

During the conversation, a wide range of opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations were discussed, including expanding cooperation, promoting economic ties, and other areas.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to work together to unlock the full potential of our partnership. We wish Mr. Ambassador a successful mission in our country,” wrote Bakhtiyor Saidov.

Uzbekistan and Denmark established diplomatic relations on January 25, 1992. Denmark was the first European country with which Uzbekistan established diplomatic ties.

The new ambassador is 62 years old. He has served in various positions in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a number of Danish embassies abroad, including as ambassador to Turkey, Azerbaijan, Israel, Malaysia, and Iran. Since 2024, he has represented Denmark as ambassador to Russia.

Jesper Vahr succeeded Jakob Henningsen as ambassador, who was accredited to Uzbekistan as head of the diplomatic mission in 2024-2025.
