A formal welcoming ceremony was held at the “Zagulba” residence in Baku for the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is on a state visit to Azerbaijan. The Presidential Press Service reports this development.
State flags of both countries were displayed and an honor guard was lined up on the square in front of the residence.
The distinguished guest was warmly greeted by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The national anthems of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were played. Accompanied by a military band, the honor guard marched past the heads of state.
Following a joint photo opportunity, a meeting between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan began in a narrow format.
