Turkey: Arrestees Suspected of Involvement in Forest Fires, Minister Says

BAKU /Trend/ – Turkish authorities have detained individuals suspected of involvement in the recent forest fires that have impacted various provinces across the country.

As reported by Trend News Agency, the information was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

The Minister stated that prosecutors have launched investigations, leading to the detention of 17 suspects in connection with the fires.

He specified that these investigations pertain to the blazes that erupted in multiple provinces between June 26 and June 28.

The Minister also noted that as a precautionary measure, inmates were evacuated from a correctional facility in Bilecik province, which was also affected by the forest fires.
