BAKU /Trend/ — Iran has partially restored international air travel, according to a statement from Majid Ahawan, a representative of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic, as reported by Trend.
He stated that the country’s airspace has been reopened for international civilian flights over the central regions of Iran and partially over its western part.
Restrictions were imposed following the escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel on June 13. Earlier that day, Israel launched massive airstrikes on Iranian territory, reportedly resulting in the deaths of high-ranking military officials, nuclear scientists, and members of the country’s leadership.
In response to the strikes from Tel Aviv, Iran conducted Operation “True Promise III” that same evening, during which hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones were launched at Israeli territory. The attacks resulted in civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
