BAKU /Trend/ – Internet access in Iran has been restored following
restrictions imposed during Israel’s attacks on the country.
As Trend reports on Wednesday, this was announced by Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Sattar Hashemi, in an address to Iranian citizens.
According to him, simultaneous with the Israeli airstrikes on Iran, cyberattacks were launched against various sectors of the country. In connection with this, internet access in the country was limited.
The Minister noted that as the situation in the country stabilizes, internet access is gradually being restored.
The Iranian Minister apologized to employees of sectors that suffered significant losses due to the suspension of internet-related activities.
It is worth noting that early in the morning of June 13, Israel carried out airstrikes on Iran, resulting in numerous military casualties, including the Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, two commanders of the “Khatam al-Anbia” headquarters – Gholamali Rashid and Ali Shadmani, the commander of the IRGC Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, as well as nine nuclear scientists and other individuals.
In response to these attacks, Iran launched over 150 ballistic missiles and over 100 drones at Tel Aviv and other areas of Israel, resulting in civilian casualties and significant destruction.
On June 22, the US Air Force attacked nuclear facilities in Iran. It is reported that the airstrikes destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“We completed our very successful attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. All aircraft are now out of Iranian airspace. A full payload of bombs was dropped on the main Fordow facility. All aircraft are returning home safely,” US President Donald Trump wrote on social media.
On the evening of June 23, Iran launched airstrikes on a US military base in Qatar.
On June 24, a temporary ceasefire was announced between the parties through the mediation of US President Donald Trump.
