Turkey Bolsters Border Security with Iran

Amidst escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Turkish Armed Forces command visited Van to assess the readiness of troops stationed along the Iranian border.

This was reported by Trend, citing the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

Minister Güler announced increased security measures along Turkey’s borders in response to recent events in Iran.

Commenting on the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, he stated that “we live in a complex period where risks and threats in our region and the world are increasing daily.”

“Undoubtedly, in such a critical situation, Turkey must maintain strength, vigilance, and readiness for any threats,” the defense minister declared.

It is noteworthy that Israel launched airstrikes on Iran in the early morning of June 13th. These attacks resulted in significant casualties, including high-ranking Iranian military officials such as the Chief of General Staff, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and several other key commanders and scientists.

Iran retaliated the same day, launching over 150 ballistic missiles and more than 100 drones against Tel Aviv and other areas, causing civilian casualties and widespread destruction.
