President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan will pay a working visit to Astana on June 17th at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan. The visit will include participation in the second Central Asia-China summit, as announced by the Uzbekistani President’s press service.
The summit will bring together regional heads of state and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Discussions will focus on advancing multilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, alongside an exchange of views on pressing regional and international issues. The adoption of joint documents is anticipated.
During the summit, President Mirziyoyev will also hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi.
The inaugural summit in this format took place in Xi’an, China, in May 2023, aiming to strengthen partnerships and expand practical cooperation between Central Asian nations and China.
