Ricky Gervais Receives Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Renowned British actor and comedian Ricky Gervais has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Accepting the honor on Friday, Gervais expressed his humility, attributing his success to a combination of “luck, persistence, and a little bit of pushing against the tide.”

“Finally, a star that will deliver snarky commentary to passersby… I always knew we needed a comedian’s touch on our famous sidewalk,” remarked Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.

Gervais is widely recognized for creating and starring in the critically acclaimed BBC Two comedy *The Office*, and more recently, the Netflix comedy-drama *After Life*.

His star marks the 2,813th dedication at the iconic Los Angeles landmark.
