Haaland Resumes Full Training with Manchester City

Erling Haaland and Rodri have both been present in Manchester City training sessions this week.

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has completed a return to full training after overcoming an ankle injury.

The 24-year-old Norway international sustained the issue during the 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Bournemouth on 30 March.

Since then, Haaland has followed an individual training regime during his rehabilitation but rejoined the main squad on Wednesday.

Having netted 39 times for club and country this season, Haaland’s precise return date remains unconfirmed. Manager Pep Guardiola is expected to provide an update at his Thursday press conference ahead of Friday’s Premier League fixture with Wolves.

Meanwhile, midfielder Rodri, 28, has also rejoined first-team training after being sidelined since September due to a significant knee injury.

The reigning 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has not played since last year following a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Spain international Rodri was earlier observed training on an individual programme at the Etihad Campus in late February.

Club sources suggest that a return at the Club World Cup in June is considered realistic for Rodri, rather than during the final four league matches or the FA Cup final.

Guardiola commented last week: “Every training session he [Rodri] completes goes well. He is eager to play, but we will need medical clearance before he can feature.”

“In these situations, I prefer to follow the doctors’ advice.”

Manchester City currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League and surrendered their grip on the title—having won four in a row—to new champions Liverpool.

They will host Wolves this Friday (20:00 BST kick-off) before facing Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley on 17 May.
