Jacobs joined the Packers after a stint with the Los Angeles Raiders.
Josh Jacobs, the star running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been arrested and is currently in custody facing five charges related to domestic abuse.
According to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in Wisconsin, officers responded to a disturbance complaint on Saturday morning, leading to the arrest of the 28-year-old on Tuesday. He was subsequently booked into the Brown County Jail.
The charges against Jacobs include battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim, and strangulation/suffocation.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time,” stated Hobart-Lawrence Police Chief Michael Renkas.
Jacobs has denied the allegations through his legal counsel.
In a statement, attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld, and Clarence Duchac asserted, “Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public.”
“We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”
The Packers organization has acknowledged being “aware of the matter” but refrained from further comment, citing “an ongoing legal situation.”
The NFL has also issued a statement: “We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club.”
Jacobs is entering his third season with the Packers, having signed a four-year, $48 million free agent contract in 2024.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection (2020, 2022, 2024), Jacobs previously led the NFL in rushing yards while playing for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Over his seven-season career, he has accumulated 7,803 rushing yards on 1,840 carries and has scored 74 touchdowns.
