The New York Knicks dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers, securing a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals and moving within a single victory of their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.
Their decisive 121-108 triumph at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse positions them to potentially close out the series on Monday at the same venue (01:00 BST, Tuesday).
Notably, no team in NBA history has successfully recovered from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series.
The Knicks are currently enjoying a franchise-best 10-game playoff winning streak, characterized by an average victory margin of 22.5 points.
Jalen Brunson led the charge with 30 points, supported by Mikal Bridges’ 22, as the third-seeded Knicks maintained a consistent lead throughout the game against the Cavaliers.
“We feel – and we always have felt – the sky is the limit with this team,” commented Karl-Anthony Towns, contributing 13 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
Evan Mobley scored 24 points, Donovan Mitchell added 23, and James Harden contributed 19 for the Cavaliers in a losing effort.
The victor of this series will face either the San Antonio Spurs or the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals, commencing on June 4.
The Thunder currently hold a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference finals, with game four scheduled for Sunday in San Antonio (01:00 BST, Monday).
