Defending champion Luke Humphries has secured his play-off spot with three consecutive night finals appearances.
Luke Humphries, the reigning champion, triumphed over Gerwyn Price to claim his inaugural nightly victory of the Premier League season, with both players solidifying their positions for the play-offs in Birmingham.
Humphries, making his third successive night final appearance, defeated the Welshman 6-4 following an impressive 6-0 victory over Stephen Bunting and a 6-3 comeback win against Luke Littler.
The 31-year-old displayed exceptional form, averaging 107 and 111 in earlier rounds, before maintaining a 100-plus average in the final.
This win guarantees Humphries a spot at the finals night on May 28 for the third year running, capping off a remarkable few weeks for the world number two.
After week 10, Humphries was ranked seventh in the eight-player table and, prior to his week 13 final appearance, was five points away from fourth place.
He is now assured of finishing at least fourth and enters the final league phase night in Sheffield on May 21 tied on points with third-placed Price.
The pair will join Littler and Jonny Clayton, who secured their places following week 12 in Liverpool.
“It’s been a struggle this year,” Humphries told Sky Sports.
“I worked incredibly hard, I changed back to my old flights and it worked. I’m proud of myself.
“It’s easy when you’re winning, but it shows true grit to come from my position to then get through and win it tonight.
“I’m just incredibly proud of myself. Probably the most proud I’ve been in my life.”

Gilding wins first ProTour title at 442nd attempt
Price appeared comfortable after securing his second nightly win in Manchester during week nine, but four quarter-final defeats in five attempts left him with significant ground to make up.
He had a slow start against Michael van Gerwen on Thursday but recovered well, before a victory over Gian van Veen confirmed his place at the O2 Arena.
This means that seven-time winner Van Gerwen misses out for only the third time in his career, exiting in the league phase for the second consecutive year.
He is joined by compatriot and debutant Van Veen, while Bunting’s exit was also confirmed.
With the four players confirmed, the play-off fixtures still need to be determined in Sheffield.
Littler is guaranteed to finish top and will face whoever finishes fourth, while Clayton, who will finish second, will play third.
Littler will also be aiming for a record-breaking seventh night win in Sheffield.

Premier League Darts is played across 16 initial weeks in the league stage with quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final each night.
Each of the eight players is guaranteed to face the other seven in the quarter-finals in weeks one to seven and 9-15, with week eight and week 16 fixtures compiled according to the table. It means we will get fourth v fifth in Sheffield on the final league-stage night, with the play-off spots potentially on the line.
Players earn two points per quarter-final win, an additional point if they win their semi-final and five for winning the night.
The top four players after the group stage progress to the play-off night at London’s O2 Arena on 28 May, with first facing fourth and second against third in a best-of-19-leg match. The final, which is the best of 21 legs, follows.
If players are level on points after the 16 weeks, then places are decided by nights won and then matches won.
