Marlie Packer and Rosie Galligan are England and Saracens team-mates
England’s World Cup-winning duo, Rosie Galligan and Marlie Packer, have announced they are expecting a child together.
Galligan, the 27-year-old lock, is reportedly due to give birth in October.
The engaged couple were both integral members of the Red Roses squad that secured victory at the Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil last year.
Packer, 36, who already has a five-year-old son named Oliver, also celebrated a World Cup win with England in 2014.
In a shared post on Instagram, the Saracens teammates wrote: “Baby Packer due October 2026 and your mummies and big brother can’t wait to meet you.”
Galligan’s announcement follows similar news from three other England players this year: Red Roses captain Zoe Stratford and Bristol Bears duo Lark Atkin-Davies and Abbie Ward.
Galligan has earned 31 Test caps, including featuring in England’s 2022 Grand Slam Six Nations victory. Packer, since her debut in 2008, has made 112 appearances for her country.
Galligan and Packer shared an image of their pregnancy scan on social media.
