Wilder vs. Chisora Bout Officially Set for London’s O2 Arena

Derek Chisora has twice challenged for the WBC heavyweight title, in 2012 and 2022.

The highly anticipated bout between Derek Chisora and former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is now confirmed for the O2 Arena in London on April 4.

This event marks a significant milestone for both fighters, representing the 50th professional contest for both the 42-year-old Chisora and the 40-year-old American, Wilder.

Despite Chisora’s previous statements about retiring after his 50th fight, initially planned to occur overseas, the British boxer is now poised to face Wilder on his home turf.

Notably, the two were slated to clash 13 years ago, but Wilder’s withdrawal occurred due to an arrest for domestic violence, preventing his travel to the UK.

Chisora enters the fight on a three-fight winning streak, which includes points victories over Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin.

Wilder’s reign as WBC heavyweight champion spanned from 2015 to 2020, a period marked by 40 consecutive victories, establishing him as one of the division’s most formidable punchers.

He faced Tyson Fury in a controversial draw in 2018, the first of their trilogy, before suffering subsequent defeats to Fury in 2020 and 2021.

Wilder made his return to the ring in June 2025 after a year-long absence, securing a seventh-round stoppage against Tyrrell Anthony Herndon.
