Trump established an early 2-0 lead with breaks of 107 and 105. However, Guodong mounted a comeback, contributing breaks of 104 and 120 before seizing the lead by winning the fifth frame.
Despite the challenge, the world number one asserted his dominance, claiming three consecutive frames, with his Chinese opponent unable to score in two of those frames.
In another quarterfinal, Neil Robertson delivered a decisive performance against Jimmy Robertson, securing a 5-1 victory and a spot in the final four against Shaun Murphy.
