Kevin Stefanski (Cleveland) and John Harbaugh (Baltimore) were among the coaches who departed their roles following the conclusion of the NFL’s regular season.
The NFL’s coaching carousel is already in motion, with the first two head coaching appointments confirmed after the regular season.
John Harbaugh has been named the new head coach of the New York Giants, while Kevin Stefanski will take the helm for the Atlanta Falcons.
Seven head coaching vacancies remain, and we will provide the latest updates on each team’s search process below.
The New York Giants, who made a mid-season coaching change, moved quickly to secure Harbaugh after his departure from the Baltimore Ravens following their failure to reach the playoffs.
Harbaugh was a highly sought-after candidate after an 18-year tenure with Baltimore, which included a Super Bowl victory in 2013. He interviewed with Atlanta and had planned discussions with Tennessee.
However, the Giants secured the 63-year-old’s services with a reported five-year deal, making Harbaugh one of the league’s highest-paid coaches.
Stefanski, after six seasons with the Cleveland Browns and two Coach of the Year awards, interviewed with the Giants, Baltimore, Tennessee, Las Vegas, and Miami.
Ultimately, the 43-year-old will succeed Raheem Morris as the Atlanta Falcons head coach, reportedly signing a five-year contract.

‘I don’t know if he jumps straight into another job’ – Tomlin reaction
Harbaugh was the NFL’s second-longest tenured coach, trailing only Mike Tomlin, who ended his 19-year run with the Pittsburgh Steelers after their playoff exit.
The Steelers are now seeking their fourth head coach since 1969 and are reportedly set to interview former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy, along with current Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator and former Miami head coach Brian Flores.
They are also among several teams that have interviewed or plan to interview Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
The Baltimore Ravens have interviewed multiple candidates, including Flores, his Miami successor Mike McDaniel, and former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, who returned to his previous role as San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator last year.
The Rams’ pass-game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase and Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak have garnered interest from several teams, including the Ravens.

‘Right now, I’m having the time of my life’ – Seahawks’ Durde
The Cleveland Browns, the third AFC North team in the market for a head coach, have interviewed McDaniel, Baltimore offensive coordinator Todd Monken, and Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski.
Atlanta and Cleveland have also interviewed Seattle’s British defensive coordinator Aden Durde, who has contributed to the Seahawks securing the NFC’s top seed and a spot in the NFC Championship game.
The Tennessee Titans, who initiated this season’s coaching changes, are believed to have engaged with McCarthy, McDaniel, and former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

The Miami Dolphins have reportedly spoken to Saleh, but an intriguing prospect for their fans is Chris Shula, grandson of the legendary Don Shula, who guided the Dolphins to back-to-back Super Bowl victories in the 1970s, including the NFL’s only undefeated season in 1972.
Saleh, Shula and Morris are among the candidates the Arizona Cardinals have reportedly requested interviews with to replace Jonathan Gannon.
They have also been linked with former Atlanta coach Arthur Smith, who has spent the past two seasons as Pittsburgh’s offensive coordinator.
Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy have also attracted significant interest, with both having interviewed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
They have also spoken to Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who was born in Colchester, as they look for Pete Carroll’s replacement.
