Fulham may have waited almost a year for a Premier League penalty, but the ensuing conversion was executed with aplomb.
Raul Jimenez calmly slotted home the Cottagers’ first penalty since their 2-2 draw with Ipswich in January 2025, securing a 1-0 victory for Fulham against Nottingham Forest and bringing them within striking distance of a Premier League record.
The Mexican international now shares the distinction with Yaya Toure as the only players to have converted every penalty they’ve taken with 10 or more attempts. Both boast a perfect record of 11 out of 11.
Chelsea‘s Cole Palmer briefly surpassed Toure’s mark after converting two penalties against Tottenham in December 2024, raising his tally to 12 out of 12, but a subsequent penalty save against Leicester in March ended his flawless streak.
Jimenez now requires two more successful penalties to claim the Premier League record for the most consecutive conversions before a miss.
Reflecting on his technique of waiting for the goalkeeper to commit before striking, he noted: “It’s always my approach. I execute it effectively, and it’s something I’ve honed throughout my career. I thrive under the pressure of these penalties. I’m pleased to have scored.”
“I’ve never missed [a Premier League penalty]. I’m very happy about that, and I intend to maintain this record. I’m ready for more penalties.”
Bryan Mbeumo joined the exclusive 100% club in April, achieving a perfect 10 out of 10 record. However, his streak ended with a penalty save for Brentford against Fulham a month later.
Former Brentford teammate Ivan Toney, another player who had scored 10 out of 10, also fell short of matching Toure’s record when he missed his 11th penalty against Newcastle in 2023.

Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, holds the record for most penalties scored (56) and attempted (67) in the competition.
Frank Lampard, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Steven Gerrard, and Mark Noble round out the top six in terms of penalties scored, though they don’t quite break into the top 10 for conversion rate.
Former Southampton playmaker Matt le Tissier boasts the third-best conversion rate among players with 10 or more attempts – behind Toure and Jimenez – converting 24 of his 25 penalties.
His sole miss – only his third Premier League penalty at the time – was saved by Nottingham Forest‘s Mark Crossley in March 1993.
Danny Murphy converted 18 of his 19 penalties, securing fourth place on the Premier League’s list of most clinical penalty takers, while James Beattie (17/18) and Julian Dicks (15/16) also missed only once.
Other current Premier League penalty takers who rank favorably include West Ham‘s Callum Wilson, who has scored 16 of 17, Bukayo Saka with 12 of 13, and Alexander Isak with 11 of 12.
