Vince Zampella, a co-creator of the globally renowned video game franchise Call of Duty, has died at the age of 55 in a car accident in California.
Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment – the game studio Zampella co-founded – confirmed his passing.
According to reports from US media outlets, the influential game developer died Sunday after his vehicle crashed and subsequently caught fire on a Los Angeles highway.
“This is an immeasurable loss, and we extend our deepest sympathies to Vince’s family, friends, and all who were impacted by his contributions,” a representative for Electronic Arts stated to the BBC.
