Aston Villa Nearing Contract Extensions for Key Players

John McGinn initially joined Aston Villa during their Championship tenure.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has stated that the club intends to secure new contracts for key players Morgan Rogers, John McGinn, and Matty Cash.

The aforementioned trio have been integral to Villa’s Premier League campaign this season, featuring in every match and playing a pivotal role in the team’s resurgence under Emery’s leadership.

Rogers, the 23-year-old England midfielder, is currently contracted until 2030. McGinn, the 31-year-old Scottish international, has a contract extending to 2027. Cash, the 28-year-old Polish right-back, has two years remaining on his existing deal.

Emery commented: “The club is actively working on individual situations with Matty Cash, Morgan, and John McGinn.”

“These players are highly important to us. Their commitment to Aston Villa is substantial, consistently demonstrating a positive attitude and contributing their individual qualities to the team.”

“They are demonstrably improving, which is highly beneficial for the team as a whole.”

Rogers tallied 14 goals for Villa last season and has become an increasingly influential figure for Thomas Tuchel within the national squad.

McGinn has amassed 251 league appearances for Villa, while Cash has been a consistent presence in the squad since his transfer from Nottingham Forest in 2020.
