Gerrard Turns Down Rangers Managerial Return

Steven Gerrard has declined the opportunity to return to Rangers Football Club as manager for a second tenure.

The former Liverpool and England captain engaged in discussions with the Scottish Premiership club’s leadership this week, following the dismissal of Russell Martin from his role as head coach on Sunday.

Gerrard previously held the managerial position at Ibrox Stadium from 2018 to 2021, during which he secured the Scottish title in the 2020-21 season.

The 45-year-old recently expressed his ambition to return to management after less successful stints with Aston Villa and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq, but withdrew from consideration on Saturday.
