Charley Hull of England secured her third LPGA Tour title, overcoming world number one Atthaya Thitikul on the final hole of the Queen City Championship.

Hull trailed Thitikul by a single stroke entering the par-five 18th, where the Thai golfer ultimately four-putted for a bogey.

This left Hull with a two-foot putt for birdie and the championship, which she successfully converted, marking her first LPGA Tour victory since 2022.

“I wasn’t really watching her putt for birdie because I thought she was going to hole it,” Hull stated.

“I guess it’s not over until the fat lady sings but I was shaking over that last putt because I just didn’t expect it. But yeah, it feels great.”

Lottie Woad, also of England, finished in third place, one stroke behind Thitikul, in Ohio.

Both Hull and Thitikul reached the final green in two shots, with Thitikul’s initial putt landing within six feet of the cup.

Hull missed her eagle opportunity, while Thitikul’s subsequent birdie attempt and par putt, which would have forced a play-off, both narrowly missed the hole.

Hull capitalized on her birdie chance, finishing at 20 under par overall and claiming the $300,000 prize for the victory.

Each player carded a four-under 68 in the final round, securing Hull’s victory by the one-stroke margin she held after the third day.

The 29-year-old, who had previously finished as runner-up in her last two tournaments, held a two-stroke lead over Thitikul at the turn at TPC River’s Bend on Sunday.

Thitikul closed the gap to one on the 10th, and both players birdied the 11th. However, Hull’s bogey at the 13th allowed Thitikul to take the lead with a birdie on the subsequent hole.

Hull responded with a birdie on the 16th, but another bogey on the 17th gave Thitikul the advantage, which she ultimately relinquished on the final hole.

Woad, 21, shot her best round of the week, a six-under 66, on Sunday to finish at 18 under par overall.
