Scorecard. Table

Southern Brave have emphatically defeated Oval Invincibles by 89 runs, establishing a new record for the largest victory margin in the history of The Hundred’s women’s competition. This win propels them to the top of the league standings.

The Brave’s fifth consecutive victory surpasses the previous record set just days prior, when London Spirit defeated Birmingham Phoenix by 88 runs.

A commanding performance from the Brave’s top-order, featuring Maia Bouchier (34), Danni Wyatt-Hodge (26), and Laura Wolvaardt (36), led them to a formidable 161-6. Mady Villiers then starred with the ball, taking 3-17 as the Invincibles were dismissed for a mere 72.

The Invincibles, opting to chase after winning the toss, faltered early in their pursuit, losing openers Lauren Winfield-Hill and Meg Lanning to Sophie Devine within the powerplay.

Bell further compounded their woes by removing fellow internationals Alice Capsey and Paige Scholfield in quick succession. Villiers then dismissed Marizanne Kapp and Phoebe Franklin, leaving the Invincibles reeling at 43-6.

Amanda-Jade Wellington offered some resistance with an unbeaten 18, but no other Invincibles batter reached double figures.

Debutant Daisy Gibb was the final wicket to fall, caught by Villiers off Georgia Adams, bringing the Invincibles’ disappointing innings to a close with 17 balls remaining.

The Brave now lead the standings with 20 points, having overtaken London Spirit on net run-rate, while the Invincibles remain in fifth place.

The Hundred 2025 – fixtures, results & reports

The Brave have demonstrated a resurgence in 2025, standing as the only undefeated team across both the men’s and women’s competitions this season.

After reaching the final in the first three editions of the women’s tournament, winning in 2023, the Southampton-based side endured a difficult 2024, finishing at the bottom of the standings with only one victory.

Having lost their first two finals to the Invincibles, the Brave have consistently dominated their group-stage encounters against the London side, winning all four previous matches.

They established a strong position early in the match, with openers Bouchier and Wyatt-Hodge forging a 59-run partnership.

Bouchier, after a series of single-figure scores to start the season, appears to have found her form, following up a 30-ball 42 against Trent Rockets on Saturday.

Meanwhile, South Africa captain Wolvaardt recorded her fourth score over 25 in five matches, while Freya Kemp contributed a quickfire 24 from 11 balls, including two consecutive sixes.

Defending their total, Lauren Bell moved to the top of the tournament’s wicket-taking charts with 12, while Sophie Devine’s dismissals of Winfield-Hill and Lanning marked the fourth time this season she has taken two wickets within a set of five deliveries.

This performance sends a clear message to their rivals at the top of the table, with three matches remaining in the group stage.

Next up, we travel to Trent Bridge on Tuesday for a double-header between Trent Rockets and Manchester Originals.

The women’s game commences at 15:00 BST, followed by the men’s game at 18:30.

Both games will be broadcast live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, with ball-by-ball commentary available on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds, and the BBC Sport website and app.
