Agyemang received her award on the pitch in Basel following the final
England’s Michelle Agyemang has been recognized as the Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2025.
The 19-year-old forward, representing Arsenal, accumulated just 138 minutes of play throughout the competition in Switzerland and did not feature in the starting lineup of any match.
Despite this, Agyemang proved instrumental in the Lionesses’ campaign to defend their European title, culminating in a penalty shootout victory against Spain in the Basel final.
Notably, Agyemang scored crucial late equalizers against Sweden in the quarter-final and Italy in the semi-final, keeping Sarina Wiegman’s team in contention for the championship.
In parallel accolades, Spain’s midfielder Aitana Bonmati, also a Ballon d’Or recipient, was honored as the Player of the Tournament.
Bonmati, a key player for the world champions, initially appeared as a substitute in the opening two games, having been hospitalized with viral meningitis shortly before the tournament commenced.
However, the 27-year-old’s influence grew substantially, highlighted by her decisive winning goal against Germany in the semi-final.
