There will be ball-by-ball commentary of the Ashes from the Test Match Special team

England will tour Australia this winter for what promises to be a captivating Ashes series.

Having last secured victory down under in 2010-11, Ben Stokes’ team aims to reclaim the coveted urn for the first time since 2015.

The series will commence in Perth and conclude in Sydney, adhering to the following schedule:

First Test: 21-25 November (02:30 GMT), Perth

Second Test: 4-8 December (04:30 GMT), Brisbane

Third Test: 17-21 December (00:00 GMT), Adelaide

Fourth Test: 25-29 December (23:30 GMT), Melbourne

Fifth Test: 3-7 January (23:30 GMT), Sydney

Here’s a detailed overview of how to follow the Ashes across BBC Sport.

The Test Match Special team will provide ball-by-ball radio commentary on BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, and the BBC Sport website and app (available to UK users only).

You can also listen via your smart speaker by saying “play 5 Sports Extra.”

Chief cricket commentator Jonathan Agnew will lead the commentary team, joined by Simon Mann and Jim Maxwell.

The punditry team will feature England’s 2005 Ashes-winning captain Michael Vaughan, Australian seam legend Glenn McGrath, and former England spinners Phil Tufnell and Alex Hartley.

Andy Zaltzman will provide key statistical insights.

In-play video clips of pivotal moments will be available on the BBC Sport website and app, along with highlights shortly after each day’s play concludes (available to UK users only).

Additionally, Hartley will host a special end-of-play show, The Ashes Debrief, featuring analysis of the day’s action with guests, available on iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

Live text commentaries will be provided daily, followed by detailed reports and analysis shortly after the close of play.

McGrath, Agnew, and Steven Finn will contribute columns offering insights into key moments and performances throughout the series.
