Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the Week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Robert Sanchez (Chelsea): He’s been pretty poor all season and the general consensus is that Chelsea are going to have to change their goalkeeper, but he was very good against Everton. He made three or four decent saves and then was in a position where he could command his box much better than he has done for most of the season.

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle): He was excellent, assured, calm and quality on the ball. At the ripe old age of 34, he is still showing that it’s necessary to have experience in the side. He helped Newcastle to manage the game when they went 2-0 up. He showed quality for two of the goals – standing a cross up for Dan Burn and also his corner for Newcastle’s third was magnificent.

Carlos Baleba (Brighton): Brighton will do well to keep hold of Baleba. There are so many levels to go up in his armoury – he is just frightening. He’s tall and powerful and his celebration after his last-minute winner wasn’t too bad either.

Dan Burn (Newcastle): Burn is the magic man of Newcastle, he just keeps on going. Every time you think his story is doing to drop off, he just keeps getting better. Burn had a real ding-dong with Liam Delap but had the Ipswich forward in his back pocket and then also scored a goal.

Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves): It looks to me like he is playing for a move, he looks focused and has the right mindset. His assist for the goal was fantastic but he just continually gets up and down the field. There are only a couple of games left and he still has that burning desire to have an impact.

Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool): He has been Liverpool’s most consistent midfielder this season. It was a great finish from him, he just looked so calm. The best bit wasn’t the goal but it was that he was the standard-setter throughout.

Yasin Ayari (Brighton): He was good and solid but it’s all about his goal. What a hit and what a show of technical ability to use Lucas Paqueta who was running at him and just bend it round him.

Matheus Cunha (Wolves): I’m running out of ways to praise him. He is just at home at Wolves – we know he is leaving but he just looks so comfortable in that side. Wolves know the offer is coming and he just wants to sign off on a positive. He is known as a bit of a maverick and has a wild side but at the moment he has his head screwed on.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool): He just continues to score goals and had a very decent celebration – a selfie in front the Kop. It’s at a time when you think he isn’t playing at his full potential too and on a weekend when Liverpool secure the title.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth): I’m so impressesed every time I watch him. I played against him at Bristol City and didn’t think he would be able to go on and do what he’s doing in the Premier League, but he is going from strength to strength. Manchester United need to be looking at him – he is powerful and drives, that’s what they need.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle): He could have scored four on the day. His movement and link-up play is excellent. This guy is the complete striker in world football.

Arne Slot (Liverpool): Could it be anyone else on the weekend that he delivers Liverpool a 20th league title? He has come in and only bought Federico Chiesa and turned Liverpool into a title winning team. He’s excellent as a manager, excellent in every interview and handles any adversity in the right kind of way.

Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the Week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace): He’s been excellent all season and delivered a lot of calm and poise when his side went down to 10 men against Bournemouth. He’s had a big role in the revival at Palace in recent weeks.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace): He came back into the Palace team and was excellent, strong and powerful against Bournemouth. When they went down to 10 men he was key in securing a clean sheet.

William Saliba (Arsenal): There’s not much more we can say about him. Arsenal cruised to a 4-0 win at Ipswich and he never looked flustered. He’s closing in on being as good as Virgil van Dijk.

Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool): Liverpool made hard work of it against Leicester but Konate showed that he is at the top level physically and he is switched on. He could become a great centre-back, possibly one that could rival the greats.

Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth): He’s been in my team of the week quite a few times now but he delivered another big performance against Crystal Palace. He was Bournemouth’s best attacking option and a little unfortunate not to have someone put away the chances that he created.

Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest): He does his job without too much huff and puff, and he added a bit extra with a goal at Tottenham.

Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City): It wasn’t the Croatian’s best game against Everton but he just keeps coming up with vital goals. With Kevin de Bruyne leaving this summer Kovacic could become a pivotal player in a new-look, fresh City side next season.

Youri Tielemans (Aston Villa): He’s found his place and his home at Villa Park. He’s not only scoring goals but dictating the play. While other players are moved in and out of the side around him he is the consistent presence at the heart of midfield.

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford): He just keeps on going from strength to strength. A really, really good player. He’s becoming a real talisman for Brentford, delivering penalties, free-kicks and in open play. His partnership with Yoane Wissa is fundamental to how the team plays.

Leandro Trossard (Arsenal): Mikel Arteta rotated his side and boy did the Belgian take his chance. He really led the team with purpose and produced two excellent finishes.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa): He was a man possessed. He scored, hit the bar and hit the post. He had the bit between his teeth and he was excellent for 75 minutes, and ran the Newcastle defence ragged.

Unai Emery (Aston Villa): It would have been easy for the side to falter after that big performance against Paris St-Germain where they ultimately came up short, but they picked themselves up and went again. They absolutely blew Newcastle away.

Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the Week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Kepa Arrizabalaga (Bournemouth): He didn’t do anything extraordinary in Monday’s win over Fulham but he did all of the simple things really well. Came and collected crosses really well, made five or six vital saves, and in the time that Chelsea are desperate for a goalkeeper – who knew they loaned out their best one?

Ben Johnson (Ipswich): Got his goal. He’s been playing a bit further forward for Ipswich but at right-back this week we were struggling so I’m going to put him after their draw at Chelsea.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool): The leader. The man who says to everybody ‘we are going to win the league and we are going to do it our way’. Puts a load of pressure on his team-mates, holds them accountable and then pops up with a fantastic winning goal v West Ham.

James Tarkowski (Everton): Tarkowski was excellent for Everton, especially when you look at how he dealt with Chris Wood. Just the intelligent play to handle anything thrown his way from Nottingham Forest. To stop Forest scoring is a massive testament to his game and Everton’s defence.

Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves): I thought he was the player of the weekend. In the week that Wolves – not mathematically, but fundamentally – are staying up, they could have taken their foot off the gas and relaxed. He went better, Wolves got better. A goal and an assist. He was excellent marauding down that left-hand side and caused Spurs no end of trouble.

Sandro Tonali (Newcastle): Since he has come back from his ban, the Italian has been frightening. He has been looking like one of the best midfielders in European football. He has everything to his game – he can run, can score, can tackle and his run and finish for the goal was excellent against Manchester United.

Tyler Adams (Bournemouth): This is someone who won’t get a lot of credit but he does some ugly stuff really well. Gets after his team, puts loads of pressure on the opposition, makes all the tackles, breaks everything up and gets zero credit.

Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City): The man, the myth, the legend – Mr Kevin de Bruyne. It’s so good of a performance that we have become accustomed to how he delivers on a regular basis. One of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen and unfortunately I think we’re losing him at a time where I think he still has loads to offer.

Stephy Mavididi (Leicester): People are going to go ‘huh?’. Yes, he plays for Leicester. He scored his goal, he was excellent. Delivered a lot of attacking impetus going forward and it was probably his best performance for Leicester all season. Unfortunately it’s too little too late at this moment in time.

Joao Pedro (Brighton): People are going to say ‘he scored two penalties’ but he scored two excellent penalties in a game that they were a little bit off. Maybe that was because Leicester were better in terms of wanting the game more. Pedro showed class and quality over that.

Harvey Barnes (Newcastle): Everyone saw how well he did. He stepped up for Newcastle with Anthony Gordon being out. Two good goals, really dynamic, driving past people. Goals always change games and Barnes was excellent.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City): Having to go first with the early kick-off, Manchester City needed a win and needed to put pressure on that top four against an excellent Crystal Palace team. He delivered a wonderful gameplan and got it all right from a tactical point of view.

Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Mark Flekken (Brentford): Chelsea had 21 shots yet he kept a clean sheet. It wasn’t a great game of football but he’s one of only four goalkeepers who kept a clean sheet this weekend.

Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace): Scored for Palace and has become a monster at the back. Ever reliable and you want him in your Fantasy Premier League team all the time.

Calvin Bassey (Fulham): By far the best player for Fulham, he was excellent.

Noussair Mazraoui (Manchester United): Becoming Manchester United’s most consistent defender, goes under the radar but makes a lot of last-ditch tackles – the one he made on Phil Foden kept them in the game.

Youri Tielemans (Aston Villa): He’s become undroppable for Villa, excellent. He had a year last year where you thought maybe they needed to move on and get someone better, but this year he’s gone from strength to strength and has become a key component. Him and Boubacar Kamara, who was rested at the weekend, have built a massive presence of quality, tough tackling and reliability that Villa have built a foundation on.

Joao Gomes (Wolves): He was the best player on the pitch by a country mile. Wolves might be worried about losing Matheus Cunha but in my opinion Gomes is the one they need to watch, and will be the harder one to replace. Excellent footballer, took over the game in the second half when they were 1-0 down. Just said ‘don’t worry guys give me the ball, watch what I can do’.

Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa): Time and time again for Villa, keeps going, keeps doing wonderful things. I think he will grow into a regular for England, I rate him that highly. If you put him on the left he still delivers but I think his natural position is the number 10 role. Having Marco Asensio there he can learn, he can understand and it will also put that fire in his belly that he wants to be the main man – even though there’s wonderful players around him.

Jacob Murphy (Newcastle): Two great goals, has he been the most underrated player this season? I would say I don’t know of anyone who has gone more under the radar, but has been a seven-and-a-half or an eight out of 10 every game. He’s been excellent.

Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham): A massive win against Liverpool and I think he’s waited for a long time to showcase the best version of himself. A lot of injuries, a lot of tough times at Fulham but he’s having a run of form that is excellent.

Evanilson (Bournemouth): I thought he was excellent again, two goals at the weekend. When people are struggling for a number nine I’ve managed to put two in my team.

Jorgen Strand Larsen (Wolves): A contender for most improved this season. He has developed into a top player, double figures for a team who are struggling. His confidence, touch and assist for the first goal were fantastic. Then a poacher’s goal, a really good finish, for the second.

Unai Emery (Aston Villa): A huge win for Aston Villa, building on what has been a fantastic season and now going into a massive Champions League tie against Paris St-Germain. Most people would have expected them to rest players and change players against a very good Forest team. They did change players, however they were excellent and still got the job done.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Emi Martinez (Aston Villa): Solid, comfortable, he just does everything well, doesn’t he? Another really good performance between the posts for an in-form Aston Villa side.

Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa): He has grown from strength to strength and become one of the best centre-backs in English football. This is really hard to say because I am a Birmingham fan and he is a Villa player, but he has been exceptional.

Murillo (Nottingham Forest): He was a monster for Nottingham Forest, an absolute powerhouse. He loves defending and you have seen that with his last-second clearance off the line. He doesn’t over-egg things, just defends.

Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest): He has been excellent all season for Forest and never gets spoken about. He moved across from left-back to right-back against Manchester United, dealt with it and just delivered again.

Curtis Jones (Liverpool): That was a midfielder playing at right-back against Everton in the Merseyside derby and he handled it exceptionally well. Showed a very mature performance.

Ryan Yates (Nottingham Forest): He was the best player on the pitch for Forest. Did all the nasty, horrible things well. Understood the game, a captain marvel.

Sandro Tonali (Newcastle): What a year this guy has had. From being banned, to coming back and being so solid. He does all the right things and what a goal that was against Brentford.

Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea): I have not been a big lover of Enzo, he has floated in and out of games. But he is starting to grow on me more and more. That Chelsea midfield is starting to click and he will have a decent end to the season.

Jack Grealish (Manchester City): It’s been well publicised that he is probably going to leave City this summer, but he has handled himself so well. He came on against Bournemouth in the FA Cup and did really well – and then did well against Leicester, scoring the opening goal.

Liam Delap (Ipswich): Scored a massive goal in a monumental game for Ipswich. I was desperate to put Marcus Rashford in for the first time but he only played 65 minutes so that will have to wait.

Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest): Wow, what a performance. Not only the goal but everything he did ran Manchester United ragged. How do you get rid of that player and keep Antony if you are Man Utd? That is the question a lot of people will be asking.

Kieran McKenna (Ipswich): It was a must-win game at Bournemouth, especially after Wolves beat West Ham the night before. Away to a very difficult side, if Ipswich had lost, relegation would have been done and dusted. But that 2-1 win kept them alive. It was a massive result.

Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

Alphonse Areola (West Ham): Massive performance in the win at Arsenal. I thought West Ham were great. I know everyone wants to talk about Arsenal not having a striker but I thought West Ham did a real good number on them.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham): He’s been excellent since he left Manchester United, found his feet and got his confidence back. Did a really good job against Arsenal, looked like he was back to his best defensively and offered a bit going forward as well – but defensively he was solid.

Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool): I think it’s his first time in my team of the week. He was a beast, a monster, in the win at Manchester City. I was going to put Virgil van Dijk in but I think I give him too much love, but they were excellent against that City team. Well-marshalled and saying ‘come and break us down if you can’ – but they never did.

Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace): Scored a wonderful header in Palace’s 2-0 win but he was just solid against a really good Fulham team, and he’s been a part of this team that has gone four unbeaten. I think he’s been excellent.

Djed Spence (Tottenham): He scored a deflected shot against Ipswich but it’s more for the weeks of being so consistent when that Spurs team were struggling and loads of players were out. Him and Archie Gray were the two that stood out consistently.

Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton): I know they played Southampton and I know I say Southampton are terrible – because they are – but he’s been excellent over a period of time as well. Even when they were overrun in that 7-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest, he never stopped and I think he deserves to be in the team of the week because he has been exceptional for a few weeks.

Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford): He got a couple of assists in the win at Leicester. Again, I am aware they played Leicester and they are terrible as well. He did well and kept the ball moving.

Lewis Miley (Newcastle): Player of the weekend. Yes, he scored against Forest but he was excellent. At 18 years old it was a coming-of-age performance – he was mature, kept the ball well and ran over people. He made a few mistakes but that was fine, he carried on going and didn’t let anything affect him.

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford): Just a cut above. Brentford will do well to keep hold of him. The worry for a lot of people is if Mohamed Salah moves on, he could be going to Liverpool and they could be unbelievably good. He looks like he’s got another gear to go.

Brennan Johnson (Tottenham): Timely for him to be back with two good goals. Tottenham have missed his direct play and obviously that goal threat that he carries. Spurs are looking a lot more like the real attacking threat we know they can be.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace): He got an assist at Fulham and looked like a real powerhouse as always, but unfortunately didn’t score. Now he’s being consistent and hopefully takes that main-man role. He’s been excellent and probably could have been in the team the past couple of weeks.

Eddie Howe (Newcastle): Newcastle have been on a good run and have won 13 of their past 16 games in all competitions. When they had that massively disappointing second half when they lost to Brentford in December, he spoke about having a chat with the group. Really cleared the air, really honest, probably cut-throat I would imagine, but then to go on and win as many as they have is massive. He orchestrated a Newcastle team that has moved potentially into the top four. They’re closing down Forest who are third, and closing down Manchester City. You wouldn’t bet against them finishing in the top four, and potentially beating Liverpool in next month’s Carabao Cup final.

Who has made Troy’s Premier League team of the week?

After every round of Premier League matches this season, BBC football pundit Troy Deeney will give you his team and manager of the week.

Here are this week’s choices. Do you agree? Give us your thoughts using the comments form at the bottom of this page.

David Raya (Arsenal): He made some big saves and it was a solid performance, which obviously kept Arsenal with an opportunity to go on and thrash Manchester City 5-1.

Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest): He was excellent at the back against Brighton and also got his goal. He was a catalyst going forwards and backwards for that team. I even liked the fact the manager had to calm him down from getting sent off. That really set the tempo for that game.

James Tarkowski (Everton) and Morato (Nottingham Forest): Both of them are solid centre-backs. Both teams had clean sheets, both played pivotal parts. Tarkowski with a little assist for the Beto goal and Morato came into a team that just lost 5-0. To have the impact he did, he hasn’t played a lot of football lately but I thought he was excellent.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal): The talk of the town. People said they didn’t like his celebration. I loved it. It shows he has got a bit of personality and a bit of life. The young man is growing into an exceptional football player.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (Wolves): He scored a goal but he was powerful in running over people. The team has lacked a leader with real quality and he showed leadership with his performance. It was a massive game for Wolves against Villa. If they lost that I think they would have really struggled to stay up.

Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest): The heartbeat of that team. He got his goal but it was a proper captain’s performance. Showed why he is worth the money they paid for him a few years ago.

Thomas Partey (Arsenal): The goal was deflected but I feel he does all of the horrible work that no-one really sees. Intercepting Phil Foden was massive for the goal.

Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest): Three assists. I’m starting to question why Manchester United let him go to replace him with Antony. I will let that sink in. Antony, who they have just basically given away.

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest): The main man, the man mountain. Chris Wood is getting better with age like a fine wine.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool): The reason for Liverpool winning the game. Salah’s penalty and then an unbelievable finish. The second goal, you know he was going to go with that left foot but you just can’t stop it. It was real quality. It was one of those moments where you realise it is stupid we are even having a conversation about him potentially leaving the club. He was excellent.

Vitor Pereira (Wolves): It was a massive game as I said earlier and he came through. I have been critical of Wolves because they have been dire, but it was a massive win for them against Aston Villa.
