Visa Processes to Canada, Argentina, and Australia May Become Easier for Uzbek Citizens

Citizens of Uzbekistan may soon benefit from simplified visa application procedures for several countries, including Canada, Argentina, and Australia, according to a report by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry held a working meeting with S. Mishra, Regional Director of the international company “VFS Global” for CIS countries and Eastern Europe, and T. Tuychiev, Head of the Uzbekistan office.

Discussions focused on the potential for gradually expanding the “VFS Global” office network throughout the regions of the country.

An agreement was reached to launch a mechanism for mobile visits by company employees in response to requests from collective groups. This service format, offered on a paid basis, enables applicants, particularly those from remote regions, to receive visa support without traveling to centers in Tashkent and Samarkand.

Particular emphasis was placed on streamlining visa procedures for Uzbek citizens applying for visas to countries without diplomatic representation in the Republic (including Canada, Argentina, Australia, and others).

In the absence of accredited consulates, visa processing entails additional time and financial expenses. In this regard, the Uzbek side expressed interest in transferring part of the procedures to the territory of Uzbekistan, including the possibility of submitting biometric data and conducting online interviews through local “VFS Global” offices.

Both parties affirmed their interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation, implementing joint initiatives, and improving the quality of visa services for citizens of Uzbekistan.
