Video Shows ICE Agent Shooting in Minneapolis Incident

A video recorded by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent involved in the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday has surfaced, revealing the moments preceding the gunfire.

The 47-second video, obtained by Alpha News, a Minnesota-based news outlet, depicts Renee Nicole Good seated in her car, engaging in conversation with the officer.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance shared the clip on social media, suggesting the agent acted in self-defense. However, local officials have maintained that Ms. Good posed no threat.

The wife of the 37-year-old victim has paid tribute to her, stating that they were attempting to assist their neighbors when the shooting occurred. Her death has ignited protests across the United States.

The Trump administration asserts that Ms. Good attempted to run over the ICE agent after obstructing the road and interfering with their operations.

The BBC has requested comments from the Department of Homeland Security and the White House regarding the emergence of the video on Friday.

The footage begins with the officer exiting his vehicle and filming Ms. Good’s car as he circles it. A dog is visible in the backseat.

Ms. Good is heard saying: “That’s fine dude. I’m not mad at you.”

Another woman, believed to be her wife, is seen filming the interaction with her mobile phone. She appears to say to the ICE agent: “We don’t change our plates every morning… just so you know, it will be the same plate when you come talk to us later.”

She adds: “Do you want to come at us? I say go and get yourself some lunch, big boy.”

Another agent approaches Ms. Good on the driver’s side and uses an expletive, demanding she “Get out of the car.”

The agent filming the clip moves to the front of Ms. Good’s car as she begins to reverse.

In a brief, chaotic moment, she turns the steering wheel to the right and pulls forward.

The camera abruptly points upwards. A voice exclaims, “Woah, woah!” followed by the sound of gunshots.

The final portion of the video shows the car swerving down the road, and the ICE agent is heard swearing.

Previous videos from the scene show the ICE agents remaining standing as the maroon SUV crashed into the side of the road.

The FBI is currently investigating the incident.

When asked about the video at the White House on Friday, President Trump stated: “You have agitators, and we will always be protecting ICE, and we’re always going to be protecting our border patrol and our law enforcement.”

On Friday, Vice President Vance reposted the video on X, defending the agent’s actions, stating: “The reality is that his life was endangered, and he fired in self-defence.”

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt also shared the video, accusing the media of smearing an ICE agent who had “properly defended himself from being run over.”

Ms. Good’s wife, Becca Good, told local media that they had gone to the scene of immigration enforcement activity to support their neighbors.

“We had whistles,” she said. “They had guns.”

Speaking about Ms. Good, she said “kindness radiated out of her”.

“We were raising our son to believe that no matter where you come from or what you look like, all of us deserve compassion and kindness,” she added.

A dispute arose on Thursday between Minnesota officials and the federal government when the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) reported being denied access to evidence related to the case.

The BCA stated that the FBI had initially agreed to a joint investigation but subsequently changed its position.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, has accused the Trump administration of obstructing state officials, while Vice President Vance has asserted that the investigation is a federal matter.

Previously, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had alleged that the ICE agent shot Ms. Good because she was attempting to run him over with her car.

However, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, a Democrat, dismissed that account as a false narrative, stating that it was clear Ms. Good was attempting to leave the scene, not attack an agent.

In Minneapolis and other U.S. cities on Thursday night, demonstrators participated in a second night of protests against the killing of Ms. Good.

Marches took place in Houston, Cincinnati, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and other cities, with some protesters holding placards calling for the abolition of ICE.

Governor Walz stated that he had activated the state’s National Guard to assist with security during the protests.

The officer appears to have been injured in a separate case that also involved a car pulling away during an investigation.

We will do it “the easy way” or “the hard way”, he said, but Denmark says the territory is not for sale.

Officials say the East Wing had “chronic water intrusion, accelerated deterioration and mould contamination”.

Officers guided the cows to safety during the rescue, with no injuries reported to animals or humans.

A mother of three and award-winning poet, Good’s sudden death sparks protests across the US.
