Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, are reportedly in custody at a New York detention center following his apprehension during recent U.S. operations in Caracas.
Video footage has emerged depicting a handcuffed Maduro disembarking from an aircraft after its arrival at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York state on Saturday evening.
Subsequently, he was transported to the headquarters of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The White House disseminated a video of Maduro at the DEA office via social media, accompanied by the caption “Perp walked.”
Sources indicate that Maduro was later transferred via helicopter from a New York heliport, allegedly en route to the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal institution in Brooklyn where he and Flores are currently being detained.
