President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke by phone on May 31st with the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuruddin Khaliqnazar, according to the presidential press service.
With fellow countrymen currently performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, the President inquired about the conditions provided for pilgrims, their health, and well-being.
The Mufti confirmed that all necessary organizational measures for a successful Hajj had been implemented.
All 15,000 Uzbek pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia, accompanied by over 300 group leaders, 50 highly qualified medical professionals, over 10 cooks, and other specialists.
This year, at Uzbekistan’s request, enclosed tents equipped with cooling systems, carpets, bedding, and heat-insulating panels were provided in the Arafat valley, enhancing comfort during the summer heat.
Overall, preparations for this year’s Hajj were significantly improved, ensuring all necessary provisions were in place.
In these holy places, pilgrims express gratitude, offering prayers for the peace and prosperity of Uzbekistan.
Mufti Nuruddin Khaliqnazar conveyed the pilgrims’ greetings to the President. The President, in turn, extended his warm greetings to all pilgrims and wished them a safe return home.
The conversation was warm and friendly. It concluded with the hope that upon their return, pilgrims would serve as positive role models in their communities, assisting those in need and mentoring youth.
