Uzbekistan’s Mirziyoyev Offers Eid al-Adha Greetings

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the Kurban Bayram holiday. This was announced by the head of state’s press service.

The full text of the congratulatory message is below:

Dear Compatriots!

From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely congratulate you, all Muslims of the country, and our entire people on the great and sacred holiday of Kurban Bayram, and express my deep respect and best wishes.

First and foremost, we thank the Almighty for allowing us, together with our people, to celebrate this blessed Eid al-Adha holiday, which holds immense significance for the entire Islamic Ummah, in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Undoubtedly, the sacred religion of Islam and one of its main holidays – Kurban Bayram – play a significant role in the construction of a social, truly people-centered state in New Uzbekistan in recent years, and in strengthening its spiritual foundations.

It should be emphasized that the values of this holiday, such as humanism, solidarity, compassion, and generosity, resonate with the large-scale reforms being implemented in our country based on the noble principle of “For the sake of man, for the sake of his happiness,” and serve to enhance the effectiveness of our programs supporting vulnerable segments of the population, demonstrating special care for the older generation, youth, and women, and reducing poverty.

Dear Friends!

Today, our country is undertaking significant efforts to further strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony, ensure freedom of conscience, preserve our spiritual and educational heritage, and raise a younger generation based on national and universal values.

In this regard, it is worth noting that special attention is paid to the in-depth study and widespread popularization of the humanistic principles of the Islamic religion, the gems of our culture and history, and the rich legacy of outstanding thinkers. For example, Samarkand was declared the capital of Islamic culture in 2025, the 1155th anniversary of our great compatriot Imam Maturidi is widely celebrated, and the Bahauddin Naqshband Research Center, commencing operations this year in Bukhara, will soon join the ranks of international research centers operating in Uzbekistan.

The unique scientific and spiritual project – the construction of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent – is attracting considerable interest both within the country and internationally. I am confident that the opening of this striking symbol of our ancient, millennia-old history, rich and unique national culture, will become a significant event in the life of New Uzbekistan.

Dear Compatriots!

In these blessed days, 15,000 Uzbekistanis are performing the sacred Hajj pilgrimage. At such bright moments, when good intentions come true, we wholeheartedly congratulate them on Kurban Bayram and pray to the Almighty for their safe return home.

I hope that they will contribute to the further strengthening of unity in our society, an atmosphere of kindness and compassion in families and mahallahs, providing assistance to those in need, and instilling in young people the desire to master science, knowledge, modern professions, and to be defenders of the Motherland.

Today, when our hearts are filled with joy, we wholeheartedly congratulate our compatriots abroad on the holiday and wish them health, happiness, and success.

We also sincerely congratulate the entire Muslim Ummah in the near and far abroad, wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being to their peoples and countries.

Dear Compatriots!

We all see how difficult and unsettling the situation in the world has become. In such a tense environment, only by maintaining an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and harmony in the country, and by working selflessly, can we achieve our great goals.

Our courageous and noble people, who have worthily overcome many trials throughout their history, are undoubtedly capable of solving such important tasks.

I am convinced that the kindness, compassion, and solidarity inherent in our people will be the source of strength and energy on this path.

Once again, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you all, my dear ones, on the sacred holiday of Kurban Bayram, wishing peace, tranquility, health, and well-being to your families.
