Uzbekistan Sets New Electricity Consumption Record

Uzbekistan has registered a new peak in electricity consumption, the Ministry of Energy reports.

The largest increase was recorded in the city of Tashkent:

To prevent disruptions and promptly address potential malfunctions, “Regional Electric Networks” JSC and its branches have organized 24/7 emergency response teams.

“In this regard, we urge consumers to use electricity as sparingly as possible. By refraining from using electrical appliances unnecessarily, we can contribute to reducing the load on the system and preventing disruptions,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that starting August 1 of this year, a new regulation will come into effect in Uzbekistan, which will restrict electricity payments for those who are in debt for waste disposal services.
