Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to Increase Flights to 238 per Week

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to increase the number of flights and expand cooperation in the aviation sector, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport.

The agreement was reached during the second conference of the Working Group on Cooperation in Civil Aviation “Central Asia – China” (C5+1), where discussions took place between the aviation administrations of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The negotiations resulted in an agreement to increase the number of regular flights between the two countries. This initiative aims to improve transport accessibility, strengthen business and cultural ties, and enhance the tourism appeal of both nations.

According to the agreements, designated carriers from both countries are now permitted to operate up to 42 flights per week on each of the Almaty-Tashkent and Nur-Sultan-Tashkent routes. For all other routes, up to 7 flights per week are allowed. Provided that the designated airlines of the Parties operate regular flights on all agreed routes between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the permitted flight frequency will amount to 238 flights per week.

The parties also agreed to increase the number of destinations for regular flights between the countries. It is worth noting that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of civil aviation continues to develop.

Notably, since July 3, 2025, the Uzbek airline “My Freighter” (Centrum Air) has begun operating flights on the Aktau-Nukus route with a frequency of 2 flights per week. Similarly, the Kazakh airline “Fly Arystan” launched flights on the Atyrau-Tashkent route on July 15, 2025, with a frequency of 3 flights per week.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue constructive dialogue and the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at further developing air links between the countries, as well as continued effective cooperation in the future.
