A 10-month-old child in Tashkent underwent surgery to remove a portion of their intestine after consuming flatbread and french fries. This was reported in the “Millar” program.
The report states that a woman traveling to Tashkent from a remote region purchased flatbread and french fries en route. Because her child was crying and fussy, she chewed the flatbread and fed it to her 10-month-old. The child’s condition deteriorated shortly afterward.
According to a physician at a Tashkent hospital, the infant was admitted with complaints of repeated vomiting, intestinal bleeding, abdominal distension, and persistent pain. Intestinal gangrene necessitated a multi-stage surgical procedure. The first stage involved resection of the damaged intestinal section and the creation of a colostomy.
The child will require a colostomy for six months. A second operation to reconstruct the intestine is planned after this period. Until then, the child will be maintained on a specialized diet.
