A bus traveling from Astana to Shymkent caught fire in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region. Five Uzbekistani citizens were among the passengers, according to a report from the Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The incident occurred on June 4th at kilometer 960 of the Astana-Karaganda-Almaty highway.
The engine compartment fire was extinguished before the arrival of firefighters.
Swift action by rescue crews ensured the safe evacuation of all passengers, who were subsequently transported to a roadside campground where they received necessary assistance.
The bus carried 34 passengers, including nine children. Five of the passengers were citizens of Uzbekistan. There were no reported injuries.
