US Lifts Tariffs on Multiple Food Imports

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order providing exemptions from sweeping tariffs for a range of food products, including coffee, bananas, and beef.

The move follows mounting pressure on his administration concerning rising consumer prices. While President Trump had previously downplayed inflation concerns, he has since focused on the issue, particularly after the Republican Party’s weaker-than-expected performance in recent elections.

The list of exemptions issued by the White House encompasses dozens of products, ranging from avocados and tomatoes to coconuts and mangoes.

The Trump administration stated on Friday that these goods cannot be produced domestically in sufficient quantities to meet demand.
