Tehran International Airports Remain Suspended

BAKU /Trend/ – Flight operations to and from Tehran’s international airports, including “Imam Khomeini” and “Mehrabad,” will remain suspended until 14:00 local time (14:30 Baku time) on July 1.

Trend reports on Monday that this announcement was made by Majid Akhavan, a representative of the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, during a press briefing.

According to Akhavan, airports in the north, south, and west of the country will also remain closed during this period.

Notably, Iranian airspace had been partially reopened for passenger flights following the declaration of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

It is recalled that in the early hours of June 13, Israel conducted airstrikes on Iran, resulting in numerous military casualties, including the Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, two commanders of the “Khatam al-Anbiya” headquarters, Gholamali Rashid and Ali Shadmani, the Commander of the IRGC Air Force, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, as well as nine nuclear scientists and other individuals.

In response to these strikes, Iran launched over 150 ballistic missiles and more than 100 drones at Tel Aviv and other areas in Israel, causing civilian casualties and significant damage.

On June 22, the U.S. Air Force reportedly attacked nuclear facilities in Iran, resulting in their destruction.

“We have completed our very successful attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. All aircraft are now out of Iranian airspace. The full payload of bombs was dropped on the main Fordow facility. All planes are safely returning home,” U.S. President Donald Trump stated on social media.

On the evening of June 23, Iran launched airstrikes on a U.S. military base in Qatar.

On June 24, a temporary ceasefire was announced between the parties, mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump.
