Superbike Rider Grigor in Induced Coma Following Accident

Callum Grigor currently holds 25th position in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship standings.

British Superbike competitor Callum Grigor has been placed in an induced coma following an incident at Donington Park.

The 26-year-old Scottish rider was involved in a crash during the opening lap of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race on Saturday.

Reports indicate that Grigor made contact with fellow racer Nathan Harrison as they approached Goddards Corner on the Leicestershire circuit.

“The race was immediately halted with a red flag, and both riders received prompt attention from the on-site medical personnel,” stated Motorsport Vision Racing, the race organizers, in an official communication posted on the British Superbike website.

“Callum Grigor’s condition was determined to be serious, necessitating immediate intervention at the trackside, which included the administration of an induced coma.”

Harrison, a 27-year-old rider from the Isle of Man, received treatment at the medical center for what was described as an “isolated limb injury.”

Both riders have been transferred to the major trauma center at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for comprehensive evaluation and ongoing care.
