Strictly Stars Prepare for Musicals Week Nearing the Finale

With the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 final just two weeks away, the competition is intensifying on the dance floor.

This Saturday marks the return of Musicals Week, featuring iconic songs from productions like “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Guys and Dolls,” among others.

Adding a new dimension to the show, a dance relay performance will open the evening, showcasing all remaining couples.

Musicals Week will also feature special guest appearances, including Paddington Bear and members of the West End show “Titanique.”

Last Saturday saw Lewis and Katya make Strictly history by winning the inaugural Instant Dance challenge.

Prior to the challenge, both Karen and Amber achieved perfect scores of 40 – a first for Karen this series.

George and Alexis also impressed, with Craig Revel Horwood describing their Quickstep as “a joy to watch.”

However, Alex and Johannes faced challenges, landing lower on the leaderboard with their Cha Cha Cha.

The Sunday night dance-off featured Balvinder Sopal and Alex Kingston.

Ultimately, the judges elected to save Balvinder, resulting in Alex’s departure from the competition.

This season of Strictly has introduced innovative challenges, reshaping the show’s format.

Following last week’s Instant Dance challenge, a “dance relay” is set to debut at the start of Saturday’s show.

This five-minute segment will see each pair perform as part of a celebration of musicals.

Featuring songs from shows such as “My Fair Lady,” “Oliver!,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” and “Mary Poppins Returns,” the remaining couples will compete for viewer votes.

In addition to the dance relay, Musicals Week will showcase a performance of Cell Block Tango from “Chicago” by the professional dancers, alongside appearances from former Strictly contestant Tom Fletcher and Paddington Bear, making his Strictly debut.

With the grand final on December 20th, the stakes are high.

At this crucial stage, even a strong score may not guarantee safety, and with fewer couples remaining, every vote counts.

Sunday night will see two more couples face the dance-off, with one more pair eliminated.
