Southampton Turn Down Everton’s £27m Offer for Dibling

Tyler Dibling notably scored his inaugural Premier League goal against Ipswich Town last September.

Southampton have reportedly declined a £27m bid from Everton for their 19-year-old winger, Tyler Dibling.

The Toffees are understood to maintain a strong interest in the England Under-21 international and are anticipated to submit an improved offer in their pursuit of the highly-rated attacker.

Dibling’s performances have garnered attention from several Premier League clubs, following his two goals in 33 Premier League appearances for the Saints last season, despite their relegation.

He also recorded a brace against Swansea City during the third round of the FA Cup in January.

Everton’s efforts to bolster their squad this summer have been met with challenges, with manager David Moyes expressing concerns about the limited time remaining to secure signings, despite available funds.

The club has secured the services of striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal for £27m, promising left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, and goalkeeper Mark Travers on a reserve basis. However, the departure of five experienced first-team players, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure, has impacted the Merseyside club.

Earlier in the transfer window, Everton’s pursuit of Kenny Tete from Fulham proved unsuccessful, with the Dutch defender ultimately committing to a new contract at Craven Cottage.
