Sir Tom Jones has issued a warning to his fanbase regarding a “sad and disheartening” scam involving fraudulent social media profiles impersonating the acclaimed singer.
In a recent Instagram post, the 85-year-old Welsh icon alerted followers to the existence of these deceptive online pages, cautioning them against interaction and highlighting the perpetrators’ intent to “trap and abuse” vulnerable individuals.
This announcement follows prior reports of individuals being defrauded of significant sums of money by profiles falsely claiming to be the “It’s Not Unusual” vocalist.
Sir Tom, a native of Pontypridd, shared a graphic featuring red text on a black background, stating: “It has come to our attention there are many fake online profiles impersonating Sir Tom Jones and/or his team, who are attempting to scam fans and members of the public.”

“If a fake profile tries to chat to you privately, report and block them. This will not be Sir Tom Jones or his team.”
“It is sad and disheartening to hear of these scammers attempting to trap and abuse vulnerable people, so please be careful and stay safe online.”
