H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Senior Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), held separate meetings Monday with Seiko Hashimoto, President of the Japanese Olympic Committee, HH Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the Uzbek Olympic Committee, during the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
The discussions centered on strengthening sports cooperation between the Qatar Olympic Committee and its counterparts in Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan. Key issues facing the Asian sports landscape were also addressed, including athlete development, capacity building, and the exchange of technical and administrative expertise.
Preparations for the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya 2026 and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh 2025 were also discussed, with a focus on opportunities for joint collaboration to ensure the successful execution of both events in accordance with the goals of the Asian sporting community.
These meetings are part of a wider series of bilateral discussions led by H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani with leaders within the Olympic movement across the continent.
