President Shavkat Mirziyoyev posthumously awarded Abdumannop Samikov, who died saving a girl drowning in the Burjar canal in Tashkent, a state medal. This was announced by the President’s press secretary, Sherzod Asadov.
As previously reported, on May 5th, two girls from the Yakkasaray district accidentally fell into the Burjar canal. Witnessing this, Abdumannop Samikov jumped into the water to save them. He successfully rescued the girls, but tragically perished in the act of heroism.
Samikov was known for his kindness and willingness to help others.
The President, deeply moved by the story, expressed his sincere condolences to the deceased’s wife and children.
Today, President Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding the late Abdumannop Samikov the “Jasorat” medal, Asadov reported.
The “Jasorat” medal was also awarded to Nurmuhammad Mamasaliev, an employee of the “Burjar” sports complex, who demonstrated selflessness in saving the girls.
“This incident exemplifies the value placed on human life in our society. In a strong and united society, courage and kindness are always recognized,” wrote Sherzod Asadov.
