Approximately 155,000 prisoners have been released on parole in Uzbekistan over the past 5.5 years, according to data from the Supreme Court.
Between January and June 2025, criminal courts in Uzbekistan granted parole to 17,144 individuals. Additionally, the sentences of 5,467 convicts were commuted to lighter terms.
For comparison, 15,909 individuals were paroled during the same period in 2023, and 16,624 in the first half of 2024. In January-June of last year, sentences were reduced for 6,222 convicts.
